A position paper states where your country stands on the topic before debate begins. These samples show the shape of a strong one: a short background on the issue, what your country has already done or signed, and the solutions you will argue for in committee.
Good committee performance starts well before the conference. These starting points help you build a picture of the history and interests of your country, read what the UN has already passed on your topic, and find the current reporting that lets you speak with authority.
A resolution is the document a committee works towards and votes on. The sample shows the required format: preambulatory clauses establishing why the issue matters, then numbered operative clauses setting out what the body will actually do, along with how sponsors and signatories are recorded.
