Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 September 2026
Northern Ghana Model United Nations (“NOGMUN”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through nogmun.org, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
We collect as little as we can. This website has no user accounts, no advertising, and no analytics or tracking cookies.
Information we collect
- Messages you send us. The contact and advertising forms ask for your name, an email address or phone number, a subject and a message. Submitting the form opens your own email app with the message ready to send; nothing is stored on our website. We receive what you choose to send.
- Staff applications. The “Apply Now” buttons open an application form hosted by Google Forms, which collects the details the form asks for, such as your name, contact details, school or organisation, and your answers.
- Emails you write to info@nogmun.org, including anything you attach.
- Basic technical information. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records standard server logs, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request, to keep the site running and secure.
How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiries and messages.
- To review staff applications and contact applicants.
- To organise our conferences, programmes and the Global Exchange & Diplomacy Fellowship.
- To discuss advertising and partnership requests.
- To keep the website secure and working properly.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We only share personal information with the service providers we need to run NOGMUN, and only for the purposes above:
- Vercel, which hosts this website and keeps its server logs.
- Google, which provides the application forms and may provide our email.
These providers may store data outside Ghana. We may also share information where the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our participants.
Young people under 18
Many NOGMUN delegates are secondary school students. We only collect the information needed to take part in our programmes. If you are under 18, please involve a parent, guardian or teacher before sending us personal information or applying for a role.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has sent us information without your consent, contact us and we will review and, where appropriate, delete it.
How long we keep it
We keep messages and applications only for as long as we need them for the purposes above, for example until an enquiry is resolved or an application cycle and its conference have ended, and then delete them unless we must keep them for legal reasons. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a short period.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. If we add any in future, we will update this policy first.
Your rights
Under Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), and other data protection laws that may apply to you, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy.
- Correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
- Delete your information, or stop using it.
To make a request, email info@nogmun.org. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact Ghana’s Data Protection Commission.
